Los Ayala is a small fishing village and beach town located in the Mexican state of Nayarit, 36 miles north of Nuevo Vallarta and 41 miles from the airport in Puerto Vallarta. It is the smallest and most southern of the three Riviera Nayarit towns (along with Guayabitos and La Peñita) that make up the Jaltemba Bay region.
The golden-sand beach that stretches for one kilometer, warm turquoise blue waters, and impressive bluffs help make this beautiful Riviera Nayarit destination fun for the whole family. The calm waters and gentle waves make it an ideal beach for families to spend the day.
Along the beach you will find many palapa restaurants serving delicious blackened fish and prawns cooked in many styles.
Take a boat ride to places such as Coral Island or Cangrejo Island, snorkel off the shore and explore the rocky depths, or ride on the famous banana boat.
The area is known as a bird watcher's paradise where parakeets, Inca doves, pelicans, frigate birds, egrets, white doves, and tropical king birds can be seen.
At the south end of Los Ayala beach, the shoreline is rocky and dotted with caves that often tempt visitors to do a little exploring.
